A Pawsitive Angel was created especially for those "quirky" kinds of pets such as Nikki our dog and Taboo our cat. Who we consider to be furry family members but not little people in fur suits.

A Pawsitive Angel LLC was created by Lori & Vern Lacell as a result of their life long love of animals. Lori grew up on a small horse ranch that included dogs, cats, a rabbit, a parakeet and even a goose named Orville Honky! Vern has also enjoyed life long relationships with family pets, especially his beloved chocolate lab Rosie.

We adopted Nikki from the Oregon Humane Society when she was less than three years old. We are her third owners. She has a sweet and playful nature and the goofiest smile -- you can't help but fall in love with her! Her enthusiasm and eagerness to please are contagious and she is a constant source of fun and entertainment. So many times we find ourselves thinking "I wonder what she's up to now?" However she was not well socialized around other dogs or people -- which can make going for walks a real adventure! Additionally she had a serious injury to her right hip which left her with a limp and the need for on-going veterinary care. With the aid of a Halti brand collar, basic training techniques and lots of positive reinforcement she is continuing to improve both her leash and people skills. Thus her alias "The Wonder Beast" !
A Pawsitive Angel carries general liability pet sitting insurance underwritten by the Business Insurers of the Carolinas.
Lori is an active volunteer with the Oregon Humane Society . She is a Co-Anchor on a dog walking team, as well as a Hands on Trainer and Mentor for volunteers for dogs and small animals including rabbits, hamsters, gerbils, mice and rats at the shelter. She is an Accredited Pet Sitter and member of Pet Sitters International.

This pretty girl is our cat, Taboo. As a kitten she was a Christmas gift to Lori over 13 years ago when she lived in a "no pets allowed" apartment -- hence her name! The two quickly became inseparable and there is no doubt she is in charge of our household. Taboo is a very independent cat with definite ideas such as breakfast should be served at 3 a.m., dogs are completely unnecessary and she should be able to read the newspaper first. Her most endearing traits are meowing after Lori sneezes and her evening "tuck-in" service when she cuddles up and purrs us to sleep.
